After reading this and the “Bebe Rebozo” story, I’m beginning to think that deep down, you really are a conservative ( in the truest sense of the word) at heart!
I like women, the environment, science, immigrants, "minorities," LGBTQ+ people, public land, renewable energy, and laws that curb the monopolistic power of health insurers -- so I'm appalled at how today's "conservatives" are treating them.
But yes, I think I know what you mean about the truest sense of the word. After all, "conservative" and "conservation" have the same root.
True conservatives (the quiet majority) love women, steward the environment, invented science, were immigrants (and believe in a melting pot, not a salad bowl), are called to love people they don’t agree with, embrace forms of energy and believe in constitutional republicanism and separation of powers…and reject the liberal definition of what are now called conservatives.
Clearly I should respond to your impulse to compliment me, rather than responding to the complicated dynamics of how one of your favorite principles has been twisted by others. Thank you for the kind words! :)

And clearly I should become a paying customer…and I will
