Let's just step outside the box and think more broadly. We've been trained to think individuals are responsible for pollution. True enough, but I've long been an advocate of "Supply Side Solutions." Plastic pollution should be stopped at the source—packagers should be forbidden from using it, and, more importantant. Plastic manufacture should be prohibited. Doubtless there are some essential uses for plastics, but most uses should be illegal. Stop fretting and start advocating sensible laws.
One of the many issues for which I have an instantaneous and unshakable answer. And then come the ifs, ands, and buts ... the doubts, questions, and objections. So I read "should they be so authoritarian as to ban disposable plastic products?" and shouted "YES!" ... regretting it moments later. Let me know when you've figured it out.

Also, thoughtful and insightful reflection, as always!
